The governor of Córdoba, Martín Llaryora, traveled to Buenos Aires this Monday to closely follow the negotiations for the “omnibus law” together with its deputies.

After 3 p.m., he met with the block of “dialogue” legislators in a meeting that included legislators from the Hacemos Federal Coalition (among whom, in addition to the representatives of Cordoban Peronism, there are leaders of the PRO, the Civic Coalition) and Innovation Federal.

The objective is to analyze the changes that Javier Milei’s government presented to the bill, and see if progress is made with an agreement.

After about 40 minutes, it was decided to go to an intermission room until 6 p.m. to continue analyzing the changes.

As it turned out, some deputies asked Llaryora that the proposals regarding the refusal to increase withholdings be “unified” and that the governors be the ones to promote the claim before Milei.

“Our objective is not to obstruct, we want to give debate and accompany the demands for change,” said Miguel Ángel Pichetto, leader of Hacemos Coalión Federal.

“There was progress, we are better than last week; “But most of the adjustment is paid by the Nation with money from the provinces,” warned deputy Nicolás Massot, and added: “We want to look more at tax spending, such as special regimes, for example, and not increase withholdings.” .

Decisive hours

Son decisive hours for the “omnibus law” in the Chamber of Deputiesbecause the “dialogue” opposition has doubts about the changes proposed by the Government last minute on Sunday, and hopes to continue negotiating to reach a consensus on some points where there is still no agreement, such as withholdings to the industrial complex.

The Casa Rosada sent a 112-page document where they grant changes regarding delegated powers, withholdings, retirements and privatization of companies, and announce that they will withdraw from the project topics such as electoral reform, trial by jury and the chapter dedicated to mental health.

The first reactions in the PRO, the UCR and We Make the Federal Coalition were cautious. In the three blocks they highlighted that there were “improvements” compared to the original version, but they recognized that on some points there is still no agreement.

The signing of a joint opinion with La Libertad Avanza will depend on these consensuses.
