LoL: One of the oldest game modes will be removed and replaced

Last Friday, Riot Games released a new video showcasing the new features and updates coming throughout League of Legends Season 13. Since the beginning of the year, the developer has been trying to improve its communication with the community, as the company has received many negative comments on the MOBA content, even accusing it of putting LoL on “autopilot”.

This time, however, there is no controversy, but interesting news and a novelty much requested by the community: the removal of the game’s oldest game mode, which will be replaced by something much better.

Farewell to the oldest game mode

Blind mode Summoner’s Rift will soon be removed by Riot Games. In this type of queue, players can choose any champion, with the only restriction being that the same champion can only appear once on each team. There are no character bans, pick orders, or job assignments, which may sound wonderful and signify freedom, but not quite. This mode causes a lot of tension between players on the same team and can turn champion select into a real Wild West.. When some players don’t have the champion (or position) they want, they quit, or even worse, troll the game.

Player expectations change over time, so the team working on League of Legends needs to learn and grow alongside you, so they can give you the best possible experience. As Kha’Zix would say “Change is needed.”

For example, there will be a Quick Match mode. Blind mode is the least popular in League of Legends, and it doesn’t get better over time. So we’re going to turn it into Quickplay, so it’s got what you love about Blind Mode, only better.

Much like the old team builder, you’ll be given the option to choose your favorite champion and role so you’re guaranteed to have at least one of them the next time you play.

When the queue pops up, you’ll see the assigned champion and role, and then you can play straight away.

Riot Pupulasers

This new feature will be tested in several regions over the next few months, and Riot Games will carefully review player feedback.

If players like it, the developers will perfect it to make it as optimal as possible, and thus improve the gaming experience. And you what do you think ? Has blind mode had its day?
