LONDON (April 27, 2025) – The streets of London transformed into a vibrant tapestry of athleticism and roaring excitement Sunday as the annual London Marathon kicked off, drawing elite athletes and everyday runners alike. Despite a misty morning, the atmosphere was electric as participants and spectators prepared for a day of intense competition and inspiring personal achievements.
The wheelchair races started the day at 8:50 a.m. local time.Catherine Debrunner, the Swiss powerhouse who dominated the event in 2022 and 2024, entered as the favorite in the women’s division.
