This set off the alarms even more, since since last week it was warned of the possibility that López Obrador was infected. This is due to the fact that he had met with Tatiana Clouthier, secretary (minister) of the Economy, who tested positive for coronavirus last Friday.
However, after knowing the Clouthier contagion, López Obrador refused to take a test, arguing that only those who presented symptoms should do it.
«I have no symptoms, the truth is that I am very well. When you have symptoms, that’s when you have to get tested. This was pointed out by the Mexican president on Friday, although the WHO advises that anyone who has been in contact with a positive should immediately put themselves in isolation and take a test.
After all this, this Monday he confirmed his contagion.
“I inform you that I am infected with covid-19 and although the symptoms are mild, I will remain in isolation and will only do office work and communicate virtually until I get ahead,” he reported in Twitter.
