Lourdes Chacón’s mother dies – Metro Puerto Rico

The mother of the artist Lourdes Chacón, Carmen Rodríguez Ortiz, passed away this Monday.

In a press release, family spokesman Ismael Rosario explained that in recent years Carmen Rodríguez Ortiz was in poor health and was under the care of her three children Miguel Chacón, Ileana Chacón and Lourdes Chacón.

At the beginning of her daughter Lourdes Chacón’s career, Carmen Rodríguez Ortiz advised her on some movements of the shoulders and hips in the dance, and supervised her performances.

“Without a doubt, it was from Doña Carmen that our Lourdes inherited her artistic vein, being Doña Carmen, the true artist of the house,” reads part of the statement.

The mother of the artist will be veiled in the Cathedral of Old San Juan.
