Only two of the six couples willing to marry said yes at the end of “Love Is Blind” in front of the altar. Now there seems to be a happy ending for two candidates – but not with their fiancés.
For this moment, she was celebrated by the “Love Is Blind” fans online: at the last second, candidate Deepti Vempati gave her fiancé Shake Chatterjee a basket in front of the altar. “I choose myself, I deserve better,” she said. The two had been a couple for about four weeks after getting engaged after just a few calls without ever having seen each other. That is the premise of “Love Is Blind”, the Netflix dating show, which again found numerous viewers in the second season. This time also thanks to popular Deepti and villain Shake.
The latter repeatedly blasphemed about his bride, stressing that he did not find her physically attractive. “She reminds me of my aunt,” Shake lamented. Nothing reprehensible in itself – but his nasty comments didn’t want to stop and also took place behind her back. So it’s no wonder that the fans of the show got behind Deepti – and it now seems to be getting a happy ending after all. In the reunion episode, the candidate Kyle Abrams surprisingly made a kind of declaration of love. “My only regret is that I didn’t propose to Deepti, she’s such a great woman,” he enthuses.

The series had not shown before that the two got along well. Kyle had chosen candidate Shayna – who in turn broke the engagement shortly after meeting her because he wasn’t religious enough for her. With Deepti, “Love Is Blind” could still be a success for him. “We’re just figuring out what’s there,” Deepti said in an interview with “Vulture” recently on the subject of Kyle. They have also appeared together on social media. And the gossip portal “TMZ” saw the two together on the way to brunch in Chicago – they seemed very familiar.
By the way: The dumped Shake now wants to start his own podcast. The title: “Love Is Blurry” – “Love is spongy”.
