“Love Lies Bleeding,” an LGBTQ+ romance movie, drew more cheers than expected at the Sundance Film Festival.

The 2024 Sundance Film Festival looks like it’s been a bit quiet. Because there are not many interesting independent films released. But most recently, A24 released ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ to be shown at the Eccles Theater in Park City, Utah on Saturday, January 20, 2024, and received a lot of cheers from the audience.

‘Love Lies Bleeding’ is a lesbian romance film directed by Rose Glass, who also co-wrote the script, and starring Kristen Stewart and Katie O’Brien. (Katy O’Brian)

The blockbuster film is the story of Lou (played by Stewart), an unfortunate gym manager who falls in love with Jackie (played by O’Brien), a muscular female bodybuilder at the gym. In which Jackie works as a gun smuggler for Lou’s father (played by Ed Harris; Ed Harris), but when Lou’s sister (played by Jena Malone; Jena Malone) is taken in by Jackie’s husband (played by Dave Franco; Dave Franco) attacked her, so she took matters into her own hands. And make every story full of wonder and extreme excitement.

At the premiere of ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ this time, Glass, the cast, and actors came on stage. and received a standing ovation of appreciation from the audience. Also known as Standing Ovation, it lasts for up to 3 minutes, which is a rare occurrence at the Sundance Film Festival. This is different from the Cannes Film Festival where Standing Ovations are often seen.

A24 will bring ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ to wide release in the US on March 8, 2024.
