A court in Saudi Arabia has sentenced the former director of public security to a total of twenty years in prison and a fine of one million riyals for abusing public funds, forgery and accepting bribes.
Arab News Agency reports According to the court, Lt. General Khalid bin Qar al-Harbi has been sentenced to ten years of imprisonment on the basis of abuse of authority.
He is accused of abusing his powers in awarding government contracts and seeking personal benefits. The court has given this punishment under the criminal law.

According to the court decision, the amount of 10.8 million Rials received as a bribe from Khaled Al Harbi will be confiscated for the government treasury.
Apart from this, the accused has also been asked to return the amount of two hundred and eighty two million riyals to the government treasury, which he allegedly obtained through manipulation.
