Lufthansa cancels almost 1,000 flights because of warning strikes – Aviation

Frankfurt – The German AUA parent company Lufthansa almost completely stopped air traffic on Wednesday in Munich and Frankfurt because of the warning strike by its ground staff. “Lufthansa has had to cancel almost the entire flight program at the hubs in Frankfurt and Munich for Wednesday,” the airline announced on Tuesday. The Verdi trade union has called on around 20,000 ground workers to take part in widespread work stoppages in Germany in order to put pressure on the ongoing salary negotiations.
