Two decades later… a Joni Mitchell party

Famous Canadian folk singer Joni Mitchell, who has been out of the art scene since 2015 due to a ruptured blood vessel, gave a surprise concert at the Newport Festival in the eastern United States on Sunday, her first full-length show in two decades.

During the party, the 78-year-old folk legend played and sang with country star Brandi Carlisle, 13 songs, including some of her most famous works, such as “A Case of You” and “Booth Sides Now”. She also delighted the audience by playing the electric guitar solo to the tunes of the song “Just Like This Train”.
Mitchell appeared on stage earlier this year when she was honored by other artists in Las Vegas during the “Musickers” party, which precedes the Grammy Awards, but this is the first time she has given a full concert since 2002.
In 2015, Joni Mitchell suffered a ruptured blood vessel that left her partially paralyzed and deprived her of the ability to speak for a while. Joni Mitchell was a major name in the generation of folk rock singers in the 1960s, with hits such as “Big Yellow Taxi,” an environmental anthem sung on Sunday, as well as “Booth Sides, Now” and “Woodstock.”
