Lula and Boric meet in Chile to discuss Venezuela

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva arrived in Chile on Monday, where he was received by his counterpart Gabriel Boric, on a visit that will serve as a forum for both to discuss the current situation that Venezuela is going through.

Boric was one of the first presidents in the region to speak on the subject, pointing out that the results provided by the National Electoral Council (CNE) are “hard to believe”. Meanwhile, Lula requested last week the CNE to publish the minutes related to the July 28 process.

“It is normal that there is a fight”he said in an interview with a television station affiliated with the Globo network, and He said that the way to resolve it is for the Venezuelan electoral body to “present the minutes” so that, if there were any doubts, the opposition could appeal to the courts, whose decision “people will have to abide by.”

To date, The CNE has not shown the detailed data of the election in which he proclaimed Maduro the winner over Edmundo González Urrutia.
