Luxury goods from S$3b money laundering case to be auctioned

Singapore is progressively auctioning more than 80 forfeited properties and over 1,000 luxury items tied to its largest $3 billion money laundering case. Beginning September 7, online sales feature high-end jewellery, designer bags, and rare collectibles, followed by multi-agency real estate auctions running through mid-2027.

The legal fallout from Singapore’s landmark S$3 billion money laundering case is translating from criminal convictions into a massive asset disposal exercise. Following the conviction of 10 foreign offenders, authorities are liquidating the vast non-cash estate left behind by the criminal network according to Deloitte Singapore. The accounting firm was appointed by the Singapore Police Force in July 2025 to manage and realise the seized assets, which span luxury collectibles stored in high-security vaults and prime residential properties across the island.

Among the marquee lots is a 15.02-carat fancy yellow diamond ring carrying a pre-sale estimate of S$200,000 to S$300,000 noted by Hotlotz founder and CEO Matthew Elton. The designer handbag inventory features sought-after collaborative pieces. A limited-edition Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama yellow-and-black monogram leather pumpkin bag, estimated between S$12,000 and S$16,000, already drew a strong early bid of S$39,000 as documented in visual reporting. Other offerings include a customized Louis Vuitton jewellery trunk and a Mini Lady Dior in matte white Himalaya Niloticus crocodile detailed by Business Times.

Elton noted that the auction house also included accessible Chanel costume jewellery items carrying estimates of only a few hundred dollars per business reporting.
