M3 Macs and MacBooks new to Apple’s Self Service Repair Program

2024-03-04 22:20:05

Apple has announced that it will expand the Self Service Repair Program to additional models. The repair program now also includes MacBook Pro and iMac models with M3 processors. In the coming days, the Apple Diagnostics service will also be expanded to the models in question, but for now only in the USA. Apple Diagonistics helps with troubleshooting and checks the devices for functionality and performance.

Apple has also standardized the system configuration process for all Mac models. Mac users are no longer required to contact the support team before completing a repair. However, the team is still available and can be called in if necessary.

Since 2022, Apple has been offering its customers the opportunity to carry out certain repairs on selected device shafts themselves. The program, which was first launched in the USA, made it possible to repair iPhone series 12 and 13 in the initial phase. The program was then gradually expanded to include Macs and MacBooks. (rd)
