Former President Mauricio Macri today visited the Rural Exhibition 2023 and pointed out that “luckily there is little left for the end” of the government of Alberto Fernández, which he described as “the worst since the return of democracy.”

“We are in such bad shape with this irresponsible government; luckily it is not long until it ends. It has generated economic and social chaos in our country. Let’s hope it ends and we leave behind this stage that, for me, has been the worst government since the return of democracy“, he declared during a tour of the pavilions of the Buenos Aires Fairgrounds, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo.

The founder of the PRO maintained that he is “optimistic” in the face of the upcoming presidential elections, predicting a victory for Together for Change.

“I come to get my injection of hope,” Macri said upon arriving at the Rural Expo 2023, where he entered accompanied by his former Minister of Agribusiness, Luis Miguel Etchevehere. And he added: “The energy of the field, the desire, the proposal, you realize that there are people who continue to bet on this country.”

The former head of state wanted “Argentina to be a country where we all live within the law” since “without law we will have more poverty, more exclusion, and more young people leaving our country in search of other opportunities.”

“I am optimistic because I believe in the Argentines. There is a clarity to understand what is happening, to definitely understand that we need a profound change in Argentina. That makes me more involved than ever and betting that we all understand that we have to put everything, absolutely everything, so that Argentina is a country where we all live within the law,” he said.

“With the law, we have a huge future. Without the law we will have more poverty, more exclusion, and more young people leaving our country in search of other opportunities,” Macri said.

The former president did not officially pronounce himself in favor of either of the two presidential candidates of Together for Change in particular, although all his gestures and statements mark a clear favoritism of his by Patricia Bullrich over Horacio Rodríguez Larreta in the internal opposition.
