The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, called on the population to fight against the “criminal dollar” that wants to “destabilize the economy.”
In the middle of a meeting with the high command of the government and the regional leaders of Chavismo, he rejected the increase that has occurred in recent days in the “parallel”.
“You have to say no to the criminal dollar, which is managed by four mafias in Miami, who want to harm the peace of the family, Christmas in Venezuela,” launched the head of state.
“I call on the people to defeat the criminal dollar, to defeat it, that the official rate be respected,” he demanded.
Given this, he asked for all the support not only of the citizenry but also of the “high political and military command.”
He pointed out that the price set by the Central Bank of Venezuela is “objective”, in accordance with the laws of the market and for this reason it was stable for several months.
“We are going to fight it and close 2022 with economic happiness, growth and defeat the criminal dollar, confront the criminal dollar and all economic agents, there and to be,” he insisted.
He added that there is an “overheating of business transactions.” He revealed that in one day there were 700,000 commercial transactions per minute in the country.
“2023, 2024 and 2025 will continue to be years of growth and healing of the wounds caused by the economic war,” he emphasized.
Special plan for 2023
Maduro also revealed that at the meeting of the high command of the government they discussed a “special prosperity plan” that will be presented in January 2023 and that will guarantee that economic growth is maintained.
“We have met with representatives of China, they are a good example because a zero poverty rate was achieved in China,” he said.
He also said that as of January 1, the border with Colombia will be fully opened for the passage of all types of vehicles, both individuals and trucks with merchandise.
