The government of Nicolás Maduro canceled in its entirety the debt of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines with Petrocaribe, which was approximately 189 million Caribbean dollars (70 million US dollars), according to local media St Vincent Times.
After returning from Venezuela on Conviasa’s first weekly flight between Caracas and San Vicente, Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves said that the agreements with Petrocaribe will be restarted with a 35% discount on the price of fuel for participating countries.
He also reported that there will be weekly shipments of urea to be used in agricultural fertilizers and asphalt, in addition to a donation from Maduro of 100 prefabricated houses that, according to Gonsalves, will be destined for those who lost their homes in the natural disasters of 2021.
On Monday, Maduro received the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in order to review the cooperation between both nations and new alliances possible for joint development, indicates a note from the EFE agency.

We had a fruitful meeting, full of brotherhood, in which we reviewed the cooperation between both countries and the new alliances for the development of our peoples. VTV broadcast images of the meeting and detailed that the leaders met for about two hours in Office 1 of the Miraflores presidential palace.
The purpose of the meeting “was to strengthen the ties of cooperation and friendship that both peoples have maintained since October 29, 1981, when the relationship was consolidated with the exchange of style notes between the two governments,” said VTV.
Although Gonsalves had already been in the country for a week because he had come to be treated for a health problem that had been affecting him for several days.
