Magnesia: Boar fell into the sea to avoid wolves BINTEO – 2024-03-17 06:56:43

In the coastal village of Achilleio in Magnesia, a wild boar was found in the sea, trying to escape and get away from the wolves that were chasing it. The animal started swimming and as the images below show, it found itself very close to a fishing boat.

The images of the wild boar bring back to the fore the danger that local residents have pointed out, with the presence of wolves in residential areas. Herds descend from mountains in an effort to find food. Residents in the areas of Achilleio, Aghii Theodori and Pagedi tou Pteleou are sounding the alarm.

As reported by voliotaki.gr, the wild boar swam to the opposite shore, at a distance of about one kilometer. He went ashore and got lost in the nature of the area, having avoided the wolves.

The phenomenon of the appearance of wolves in residential areas in recent years is a permanent headache. This happens, as with the appearance of more and more prey, the wolf, which is also a protected species, finds favorable conditions to reproduce, expanding its presence in more areas.

As the president of the Hunting Association of N. Ionia Yannis Tirhas explains, the wolf as a predatory animal is a species that depends on its prey, its prey, which in Greece are among others wild boars, deer, livestock, etc.

“As the population of mainly wild animals, such as wild boars, increases, so will the population of the wolf,” he emphasized, stating that it may be a protected species, however, as is the case all over the world, when certain species create problems, then the authorities must proceed with population management, in collaboration with specialist scientists and through a specific process.
