Mahle has developed a new technology kit that combines the advantages of its SCT and MCT-E motors. “The new motor combines consistently high peak performance, contactless and therefore wear-free power transmission, the absence of rare earths and high, highest efficiency. This means we can offer our customers tailor-made electrification solutions for every vehicle class, purpose or brand philosophy,” explains CEO Arnd Franz.
The MCT drive (Magnet-free Contactless Transmitter) works contactless and is therefore wear-free and maintenance-free, and it does not contain any rare earths. It is characterized by high efficiency. The SCT-E motor (Superior Continuous Torque) is designed for high continuous performance. The integrated oil cooling contributes to this, as it also enables the resulting waste heat to be used in the vehicle’s overall system.
Mahle is presenting the new engine modular system at the IAA Mobility (September 4th – 10th) in Munich. In addition, the Stuttgart technology group is presenting its new automated positioning system for wireless charging. Another demonstrator vehicle makes it possible to experience particularly good air quality in the vehicle interior, and another demonstrator shows how artificial intelligence can increase interior comfort. Mahle is also presenting E-Health Charge, a system with which lithium-ion batteries can be examined in the workshop, their condition assessed and charged at the same time. (aum)
