Makhachev: I think I’m the new Khabib

UFC lightweight title holder (up to 70 kg), Russian Islam Makhachev reacted to comparisons with former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“I think I am the new Khabib. Khabib 2.0! Can I be more successful than him? I do not think about it. To do better than him or anyone else… I just think of myself. I want to be the UFC champion and the best fighter in the world, ”RMC Sport quotes Makhachev.

The title fight for the lightweight championship belt between Islam Makhachev and Alex Volkanovski will headline the UFC 284 tournament, which will be held on the night of February 12 in Perth (Australia).

Islam Makhachev has 23 wins and one loss in professional mixed martial arts. Volkanovski has 25 wins in 26 fights in MMA.
