Kochi: Producer KT Rajeev and screenwriter K Srivarma say that the Malayalam film scene is in the grip of organized gangs. The film industry is completely controlled by a few individuals. Newbie directors and producers are being thrown out of the film industry due to the interference of such people. Even stars are controlled by these cabals. Newcomers who approach cinema sincerely and work towards making good films are not given any consideration. KT Rajeev and K Srivarma alleged that the film treats only those who act as the tailgaters of conspiracies. The future of Malayalam cinema is in danger. Who should make the film? Who should build? Who should act? All that is decided by some people in the movie. They retain only those who obey them. This is unacceptable. Such alliances can only destroy cinema. Malayalam cinema was once born out of friendship. So many good movies were made through it. Many newcomers proved their talent in the fields of cinema and became famous.
Once the Malayalam cinema scene was like a fertile soil. Now that has all changed. No one could enter the cinema without seeking the permission of the conspirators. Even everyone’s freedom of speech has been lost. Nothing can be revealed. Even the stars are keeping silent because of the fear of losing opportunities and their future in cinema. The government and film organizations should step forward to create conditions for everyone to make films with independent thinking. KT Rajeev and R Srivarma demanded.
The upcoming film ‘Randam Mukham’ is the new film in which the duo will be together. Films like Mizhi, Dinan North and Apartments, Iraye Shirhal and Balkani are films produced and scripted by both of them. It was KT Rajeev who brought out the problems in the manufacturers’ organization and the financial crunch in building the headquarters of the organization.
