Mall of the Netherlands, the largest indoor shopping center in the Netherlands, has broken all records in the past year. Despite the challenges faced by other shopping centers, Mall of the Netherlands saw a 20 percent increase in visitor numbers, virtually solving the vacancy problem.
The center continues to grow and has opened sixteen new stores in the second half of 2023. Despite several bankruptcies, such as those of furniture store Rebel Club and circular department store Tomo, director Jurn Hoeksema remains optimistic. However, he emphasizes that the focus now is on attracting visitors from a wider region and approaching the national market.
