Five restaurant employees sustained injuries Wednesday evening during a stabbing in the kitchen area of a Dos Coyotes restaurant inside Thunder Valley Casino Resort near Lincoln. Deputies from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a male suspect in his 20s nearby, and officials confirmed there is no active threat to the public.
A routine Wednesday evening inside a popular casino restaurant turned chaotic when violence broke out among staff members. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible stabbing at approximately 7 p.m. inside the Dos Coyotes Border Cafe location situated on the casino property.
Unlike typical public altercations in entertainment venues, investigators established that no guests were involved in the incident. Casino representatives clarified that all individuals connected to the altercation worked together inside the restaurant establishment.
Kitchen Altercation and Emergency Response at Thunder Valley Casino
The violence erupted specifically within the kitchen area of the restaurant. Deputies arrived at the casino within minutes of the emergency call and quickly secured the area, taking a suspect into custody near nearby Lincoln.
Visual documentation captured at the scene by news cameras showed the suspect still wearing a kitchen apron as law enforcement officers placed him into the back of a patrol vehicle. Authorities have not yet publicly released the identity of the detained man.
Victim Injuries and Medical Treatment
Medical personnel evaluated and treated five distinct victims following the physical confrontation. Emergency responders transported one victim to an area hospital to receive specialized medical care.
According to a casino spokesperson, the remaining four injured individuals were treated at the scene by emergency medical technicians from Thunder Valley Casino alongside personnel from Cal Fire. Officials confirmed that none of the injuries sustained by any of the five victims were considered life-threatening.
Ongoing Investigation by Placer County Authorities
Investigators stated that the detained suspect apparently knew all five victims prior to the altercation. Law enforcement officials confirmed that no additional suspects remain under pursuit.
While detectives remained stationed at the casino late into the night examining the circumstances surrounding the attack, the venue itself avoided a total shutdown. Casino management confirmed that the casino remains open to the public as the Placer County Sheriff’s Office presses forward with its ongoing investigation.
