Man arrested for assaulting Conservative Party of Quebec volunteer

A 49-year-old man was arrested for assaulting a Conservative Party of Quebec volunteer in late August.

During the night of August 28, a PCQ volunteer was assaulted when he was putting up election signs in the Rosemont district.

The incident allegedly occurred around 3 a.m. on rue Masson, near 8th avenue. The victim was said to have been verbally threatened by an individual holding an object.

However, no weapon was found on the scene and there were no injuries, confirmed the SPVM.

The individual who allegedly assaulted the volunteer has been released on a promise and will appear on October 27. He will face charges of assault with a weapon, death threats and mischief.
