A 46-year-old man has been placed under arrest warrant for the fatal collision on Saturday morning in Diepenbeek, the Limburg public prosecutor’s office announced on Sunday. The victim, a 20-year-old man, was crossing the Nieuwstraat around 12:45 a.m. when he was hit by a car. The man died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the vehicle continued on his way. He reported himself to the local police a few hours later.
An investigating judge placed him under arrest warrant for involuntary assault causing death and hit and run.
