A man wanted for theft of copper was intercepted on Wednesday during a control operation targeting heavy goods vehicles carried out by the local police on the E25 at Mouland in the Fourons.
The control operation concerned the transport of goods. The local police zones have received the support of the federal road police as well as that of the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (Afsca) and GOCA. Alongside infractions regarding driving and rest times, technical requirements and a faulty handbrake, a person was found in the load space of a van with Romanian license plates.
The man, of Romanian origin, was under a capture order for theft of copper. The person concerned was also found in possession of a large sum of money, the legal origin of which he proved unable to prove. The individual was deprived of his liberty and the police seized the money.
