Man killed while crossing South Highway

Gerardo Bandera was trying to cross the South highway early this Thursday morning when he was hit by a car and died.

It was approximately 5:30 a.m. when the 56-year-old man passed the freeway, just below the La Honda walkway, and was struck by a vehicle. The driver fled the scene.

The victim was lying on the pavement until dawn when the body was picked up and taken to the Valencia morgue.
