ABU DHABI, 9th October, 2018 (WAM) – Joleon Lescott, the former star of the English football team Manchester City, confirmed that the successful experience of the Emirates and the capital, Abu Dhabi, with Manchester City made him at the forefront of the world’s clubs, and led him to create a history that will remain engraved in people’s minds.

Lescott said, during Manchester City’s “historic treble” cup tour at the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi: “The vision of the club’s owners made it achieve achievements in a short period, most notably the Champions League title, the biggest and most difficult title for all teams… and I hope that the team will repeat what it has achieved.” Achievements… He can do that thanks to his management, and the philosophy of his coach, Josep Guardiola… The team does not need major changes. It has a professional work system that develops from year to year.”
Regarding the experience of the Manchester City Academy in the Emirates, Lescott stressed that it gave young players the opportunity to learn skills and gain experience from senior players and elite coaches.
He said, “What I saw of the remarkable presence of fans and team fans in the Cup Round confirms that Manchester City’s popularity in the Emirates and the region has become very great, especially among the new generations.”
He added: “Every visit to Abu Dhabi, I find that everything is progressing well. During my visits, I watched the preliminary round matches of the American Basketball League (NBA) and met a number of its stars. A wonderful visit that I hope to repeat again.”
