Gresini Racing RACER, Marc Marquez, revealed that there was a problem in the front-end under the brakes which caused him to fall during the American GP.

The racer from Spain led the MotoGP race at the Circuit of the Americas, Texas, Monday (15/4) early morning WIB. However, he had to give up the leading position after falling when there were only ten laps remaining in the race.

“I’m satisfied because we were among the leading positions, we were fast and gave everything we could. Unfortunately, we had front-end problems under braking, I wasn’t comfortable and I struggled (in the last lap). The accident happened because there was no what I can do to overcome these obstacles,” said Marquez, quoted from the official Gresini Racing website, Monday (15/4).

The racer who won eight world titles is optimistic that the Gresini Racing team will be able to provide the best solution to the obstacles he experienced while racing in the American series this time.

Marquez is confident that he will be able to do a lot at the 2024 MotoGP Jerez series which will take place at the Jerez Circuit, Spain on April 28.

“We are working well and I am sure we will fix the current problem, as we did for other problems that have arisen before, and we will try to compete again at Jerez,” said the 31-year-old racer.

The incident of failing to compete for the top position was also experienced in the previous series by Marquez when competing for fifth position in the 2024 Portimao Portugal MotoGP race.

Marquez had to collide with Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia when there were only two laps remaining in the race. After the incident occurred, Marquez was able to continue the race even though he ended it in 16th position.

Meanwhile, the American GP race was won by Aprilia Racing racer, Maverick Vinales, who finished with a time of 41 minutes and 9.503 seconds ahead of Red Bull Gasgas Tech3 racer, Pedro Acosta, who locked in second place. Meanwhile, the final podium was occupied by Ducati Lenovo racer, Ernea Bastianini.

Vinales’ victory also heated up the competition for the 2024 MotoGP title. Vinales is now in third place with a collection of 56 points, a three point difference over Bastianini who is in second place.

Meanwhile, Jorge Martin still leads the standings with a collection of 80 points. (Ant/Z-1)
