[DIGITAL Business Africa] – Meta develops the Meta AI chatbot. The company announced this on April 18, 2024. Méta AI is an evolved version of Llama 2, developed to facilitate digital inclusion and rapid development of digital skills of young Africans. The solution was presented in Cameroon by Olivia Tchamba, Head of Public Policy for Francophone Africa at Meta, in October 2023, during Digital Week Cameroon, held in Yaoundé.
Llama 2 had an AI language model competing with GPT-4 aimed at researchers and businesses, distributed openly and developed in collaboration with Microsoft. With MetaAI, the company adds something more.
“We’re making Meta AI easier to use by integrating it into the search boxes at the top of WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger. We have also created a website, meta.ai, which you can use online. We have also implemented unique creative features, such as the ability to animate images. Meta AI now generates high-quality images so quickly that it creates and updates them in real-time as you type. It also generates a video of your creative process. says the company.
Meta AI’s goal is to be the smartest AI assistant that people can use freely around the world.
