Marchin: he attacks a restaurant employee with a machete

An individual born in 2000 appeared on Wednesday before the criminal court of Huy for prevention of assault and battery, car theft or even threats by gestures or emblems to Nandrin.

The defendant notably injured a person with a machete. On June 12, a violent attack took place along the Condroz road. During an argument, a lady wanted to leave her boyfriend, soaked in alcohol, on the side of the road. The latter then struck several blows at the driver. After the car stopped near a restaurant, an employee wanted to intervene to intervene. Following an exchange of blows, the young man pulled a machete from the trunk of the car to injure the employee in the calf. The perpetrator then decided to destroy the window of the car on the driver’s side to force the frightened lady out and flee with the vehicle.

Before the judge, he admitted the attack on the employee, who suffered an 18-day incapacity for work, and some of the facts concerning his girlfriend. “I know there were jostling but for the rest, I have black holes. I didn’t want her to leave without me and I was afraid of losing her. Currently, I think of her every days”. Note that a compressed air pistol was also found in the car often used by the defendant.

For the advice of the girlfriend, the young man lacks empathy. The lawyer for the civil party requested a provisional euro and a qualification expertise, or at least a medical expertise for his client. The prosecution, for its part, pointed to the attitude of the principal concerned, already subject to conditions, during the hearing. The prosecution requested a 4-year sentence, with partial probation, and 4 months for possession of the gun.

The defense lawyer for her part sought the acquittal of her client concerning the theft of the car and the threats by gestures or emblems. Finally, she pleaded in favor of a sentence making it possible to avoid any downgrading: an autonomous probation or a probationary suspension as broad as possible. Judgment will be rendered on August 2.
