Hyderabad: Pujari’s boyfriend has been arrested for killing a young woman and leaving her body in Allthula. Ayyagari Venkit Surya Saikrishna, a priest of the Sarurnagar temple, was arrested by the police in the case of killing Apsara (30), a native of Shamshabad, Hyderabad. Pujari had lodged a complaint with the police saying that Apsara was missing since June 4. But the shocking murder came to light when the police team, suspicious of the complaint and statements, interrogated the complainant in detail. The police said that the married priest and the murdered woman were in a secret relationship and the murder was caused by forcing the woman to marry.
Apsara was killed by Saikrishna on the 3rd of June. The body was then dumped in Allthula outside the office of the revenue officer behind the temple. After this, on June 5th, he filed a police complaint that Apsara was missing.
Saikrishna’s complaint was that he had taken Apsara to Shamshabad on June 3rd and since the fourth day, he had not been able to reach her on the phone. It was said in the complaint that it was believed that he had gone to Bhadrachalam with his friends and the phone was switched off later. But the police became suspicious as there were inconsistencies in many things mentioned in the complaint. Moreover, the phone call details of the complainant were also suspicious. With this, the complainant Saikrishna was taken into custody and questioned on Thursday. During the detailed interrogation conducted by the police team, the accused revealed that Apsara was killed and the body was left in Allthula behind the temple.

Apsara left home saying that she was going to Coimbatore on 3rd June. Then he met Saikrishna at Narkhoda village in Shamshabad. From here, the accused took the woman to a secluded place and then killed her by hitting her on the head with a stone. After confirming that the woman was killed, the accused tried to hide the body secretly. Then he reached the Sarurnagar temple where he was working with the dead body. Later, the accused has given a statement that the dead body was dumped in Allthula behind the temple. It is also in his statement that Apsara has been subjected to abortion earlier.
According to the statement of the accused, the police had conducted a search in Allthula near the temple and recovered the dead body of the young woman. The body found in a rotten state was shifted to the hospital for post-mortem.
