A massive fire broke out inside a factory in the new city of Sphinx, north of the October sector, today, Thursday.
The official of the Civil Protection Operations Room in Giza received a notification from the Rescue Police Department that thick fumes and flames rose from a factory on the desert road.
Major General Jaber Bahaa, Director of the General Administration of Civil Protection in Giza, provided 16 fire engines and a strategic water tank, in coordination with his deputy for the October Fire Department.
Examination revealed that a fire had broken out inside the Riva Food Industries factory for the production of pickles at kilo 50 Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, towards Alexandria.
The fire spread over an area of 1,000 square meters following plastic barrels ignited. Civil defense men confronted the source of the fire without injuries, as the cooling process began to prevent its recurrence.
