«Citizens demand clear and effective justice»
“Also with reference” to the values “referred to by the figure of Vittorio Bachelet, the CSM is called upon to contribute to ensuring maximum credibility for the judiciary, with decisions always taken with the sense of the institutions. Our fellow citizens demand transparent and efficient justice. The Constitution entrusts the CSM with the task of giving substance to the independence of jurisdiction, as an indispensable value of our democracy” continued the President of the Republic.
«Paper and cohesion defeat those who tear society apart»
“In the criminal logic of his assassins, Bachelet represented the institutions that determinedly countered terrorist violence using only constitutional tools and, at the same time, expressed a profound sense of community and social cohesion. These two elements – the Constitution and the sense of community for social cohesion – have always defeated attempts to tear apart society and disarticulate its institutions” underlined Mattarella.
«High politics means healing divisions»
“In his action, Bachelet was guided by the conviction that, despite all the difficulties, it was possible to heal the divisions, putting aside particular interests and thus recovering the highest sense of politics at the service of the institutions.
