Max Verstappen goes beyond Michael Schumacher with new contract with Red Bull F1[F1-Gate .com]

The new deal between Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing is heading towards breaking the record held by Michael Schumacher. It will soon be defeated by Lewis Hamilton.

Max Verstappen will remain in F1 World Champion Red Bull Racing until at least 2028 with a new contract.

Max Verstappen, who joined the Red Bull family as a junior driver in 2014, will have a relationship with the team for up to 14 years with this contract extension.

Max Verstappen made his F1 debut at Toro Rosso in 2015 after just a year in F3 and was promoted to Red Bull Racing in the middle of the following season, winning his first race in Barcelona.

When Max Verstappen’s new contract with Red Bull Racing ends in 2028, he will be the most driver to complete a season and race in one team in F1 history. This breaks the current record held by Michael Schumacher.

Michael Schumacher spent 11 seasons as a Ferrari F1 driver between 1996 and 2006, competing in 181 races at Scuderia Ferrari.

So far, the record remains, but Lewis Hamilton is closer than ever to defeat both.

Lewis Hamilton is now in his 10th season as a Mercedes F1 driver, surpassing Schumacher’s 181 races at this season’s F1 Emilia Romagna GP.

But Lewis Hamilton will have to wait until 2024 to launch his twelfth campaign with Mercedes F1. The current Mercedes F1 contract is until the end of 2023.

3. 3. Kimi Raikkonen-Ferrari (8 years / 152)
Four. David Coulthard-McLaren (9/150)
Five. Felipe Massa-Ferrari (9 years / 140 battles)

If F1 maintains a 23-race race caller, unchanged from the current number of races, Max Verstappen will start the 2013 and 256 races at Red Bull Racing and end the 2028 season.

With the addition of the start of 23 races at Toro Rosso, Max Verstappen will be 8th in history with 279 races.

However, Max Verstappen is only 30 years old by 2028 and has the potential to grow further as an F1 driver. And Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton both have a history of winning more F1 titles in their thirties than in their twenties.
