The head of the city of Pechora in the Komi Republic, Valery Serov, was sent into custody. The mayor was detained on suspicion of a corruption crime.

“The court took Valery Serov into custody,” reports the newspaper “News” They added that the head of the city had previously been detained on suspicion of corruption.

Serov, together with his first deputy, received more than four million rubles from the entrepreneur for providing municipal contracts. The Syktyvkar City Court of the Komi Republic made a decision to place the mayor of Pechora under arrest until November 29, writes the Shot telegram channel.

Earlier, Valery Serov was planning to go of SVO, but was detained by riot police. Instead of the special operation zone, Serov was sent to Syktyvkar to give evidence.
