Mbappe attached his message to a picture of him looking sad and holding the Golden Boot award for the best scorer (8), in addition to the French flag and an emoji of clasped hands.
The disappointment seemed clear to the Paris Saint-Germain striker, while French President Emmanuel Macron was trying to console him after the loss at Lusail Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha.
On the other hand, the official account of the French national team on Twitter published a sad phrase that summarizes what the players and coaching staff are going through, stating that “waking up is difficult” and urged supporters to “send messages of support” to them.
For his part, striker Marcus Thuram sent a message with a broken heart, attached to a picture in which he looks sadly at the gold cup that the French team failed to keep for four new years after winning the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
