A 59-year-old man from a prefecture employee was arrested on the 9th on suspicion of bribery for receiving food and drink entertainment in return for providing Kagoshima Prefecture’s internal materials. In the afternoon, the prefectural police searched the prefectural office and other houses and seized related materials.

Following the arrest of the staff, around 2:00 pm, 15 prefectural police investigators entered the prefectural office and searched the house.
Yoshihiro Nozoe (59), the chief of the road maintenance section of the Civil Engineering and Construction Division of the Nansatsu Regional Development Bureau of the prefecture, was arrested on suspicion of bribery, and was arrested on suspicion of bribery in Asahi-cho, Ichikikushikino City. I’m Akihiro Ogawa (64), an office worker.
According to the prefectural police, Nozoe provided the prefecture’s internal materials to Ogawa by e-mail between March and November last year, and as a reward, he eats and drinks for about 100,000 yen six times in total. The search for the house of the prefectural office took about an hour and a half, and the related materials were seized from the civil engineering department.

The internal material allegedly provided by Nozoe is an undisclosed “design unit price list” that shows the unit price of materials for civil engineering and public works projects, and it is information that will be advantageous when bidding, but Ogawa is suspected. The company where the person works is not involved in public works in the prefecture.
Police are investigating how Ogawa used the internal materials received by him.
