McLaren has announced that Daniel Ricciardo will be competing in the 2022 F1 World Championship opening round at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Recovery from the new coronavirus is expected.
Daniel Ricciardo was found to be infected with the new coronavirus after he was absent from the first and second days of testing after complaining of poor health in his second preseason test in Bahrain last week. He was quarantined according to the rules of local authorities.
McLaren issued a statement on Wednesday, March 16th. Daniel Ricciardo has announced that he will be able to compete in the F1 Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend after a number of tests have been negative.
“The McLaren F1 team paddocked Thursday to prepare for this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix, with Daniel now having a number of negative tests after a positive test for the new coronavirus last week. We are announcing that we will be back in a statement, “McLaren said in a statement.
“Daniel continues to recover, isolated according to local regulations in Bahrain, and feels better every day.”
