Media: the release of the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be postponed due to CDPR’s refusal to cooperate with the Russian studio | Games

CD Projekt RED has severed its working relationship with the Russian porting division of Saber Interactive The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the Xbox Series X / S and PlayStation 5 consoles. This was reported by Gamemag, citing sources familiar with the situation.

According to the published information, the Polish studio refused further cooperation with the St. Petersburg office of Saber and in a strict form demanded that all available developments on the project be transferred. It is assumed that the change of contractor will negatively affect the speed of development of the next-gen version of The Witcher 3. The companies have not made official statements regarding partnerships and planned releases.

The announcement of the release of the improved third part of The Witcher took place in 2020. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will be available for purchase as a standalone title, as well as a free nextgen update for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. scheduled for the second quarter of 2022.
