Medium intensity earthquake was perceived in the central area

An earthquake of medium intensity was perceived following 08:00 hours in the regions of Coquimbo, Valparaiso and Metropolitanas reported from both areas.

As detailed by the National Seismological Center (CSN), the telluric movement was 5,1 Richter at a depth of 34 kilometers 48 kilometers southwest of Los Vilos.

Onemi, meanwhile, reported that the intensity ranged between II and IV Mercalli:

At least 24 earthquakes have been recorded since 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday in Los Vilos, according to the CSN. The strongest of them was this morning, followed by one that occurred at 11:45 p.m. and 2:54 a.m. on Wednesday, both measuring 5.0 Richter.
