Medvedev responded to the expulsion of diplomats with words about “examine through weapons optics”

Deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev commented on the mass expulsion of Russian diplomats from a number of European countries. He described this diplomatic practice as “customs that are senseless in nature and lead nowhere.”

Commenting on the latest statements of the European Foreign Ministries in his telegram channel, Medvedev spoke about “crazy Poles”, “zealous Germans”, refined French “and” Balts suffering from crazy phantom pains. “According to the deputy head of the Security Council, in such cases there is always an answer,” symmetrical” and “destructive for bilateral relations.” He also expressed the opinion that European countries would feel a greater negative effect, while Russia did not feel anything.

“A cheap continuation of the schizoid campaign to put pressure on our country,” Medvedev said, “which won’t change anything.”

At the same time, he suggested that if the trend continues, “it’s just right, as I wrote back on February 26, to hang barn locks on Western embassies.”

“And then, for sure, to consider each other only in weapons optics,” he concluded.

On February 26, Medvedev said that the sanctions could become a reason for Russia to reconsider relations with the countries that imposed them, including interrupting the dialogue on strategic stability: “But contacts should be continued, examining each other only through binoculars and weapons optics.”
