Psychology student Misbah Arshad has been crowned Miss Universe Pakistan 2026 following a competitive selection process at an official ceremony in Zambales, Philippines. Arshad received her sash from franchise owner Josh Yugen and was crowned by her predecessor, Roma Riaz, according to regional reports. The victory makes her the fourth Pakistani woman to earn the opportunity to represent the country on the global Miss Universe stage, succeeding a line of delegates that began when the franchise launched in 2023.
Psychology Student Crowned Miss Universe Pakistan 2026
Arshad secured the national title after progressing through multiple rounds of competition—including evening gown, burkini, and traditional wear segments—before advancing to the final question-and-answer session. Filipino singer and actor Bailey May posed the decisive question, asking Arshad which version of herself she would find harder to answer: her 10-year-old self or her 80-year-old self. Arshad selected her younger self, explaining that a 10-year-old would want to know how her life ultimately turned out. She reflected on her personal setbacks, stating that she would tell her younger self that life is a beautiful cycle of facing failures, finding strength to start again, and embracing every step.
Extensive International Pageantry Background
Arshad is an experienced competitor who arrived at the national pageant with a well-established resume in international pageantry. In 2023, she won the Miss Pakistan World title, which led her to become the first Pakistani delegate to compete at the Miss International pageant in Japan. Her participation was officially documented by the Miss International portal, which also noted her studies as a psychology major. She subsequently represented Pakistan at Miss Supranational 2024 in Poland, where she was listed among the contestants by the Polish broadcaster Polsat.

Outside of her pageant career, Arshad has pursued an academic background in psychology at Germany’s University of Hagen while living in Munich. Alongside her studies, she works as a model and creates content in the fashion and beauty space. Her public profile highlights a commitment to social advocacy, particularly girls’ education. In July 2026, she visited a school in Lahore to interact with students and meet local organizations, later sharing on social media that girls’ education represents one of the most powerful investments for Pakistan’s future.
Preparation for the 75th Miss Universe Global Stage
Following her victory, Arshad is preparing to travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she will represent Pakistan at the 75th Miss Universe pageant scheduled for November 24, 2026. The global competition will mark the pageant’s Diamond Anniversary, bringing together contestants from around the world.

Reflecting on her winning look for the national finale, Arshad wore a gown featuring an embroidered fitted corset and a white flared skirt designed by Vietnamese designer Nguyễn Tiến Truyển. The designer noted that the garment drew inspiration from traditional Pakistani motifs and cultural spirit. Arshad shared on Instagram that the pure white fabric of the gown symbolized hope and served as a reminder to never stop believing in one’s dreams, while its royal blue crystals represented education and knowledge gathered through continuous learning.
