The pharmacy chain stands out as the sole pharmaceutical care enterprise in Latvia to achieve this distinction, following an evaluation process that spans eight distinct workplace metrics.

The evaluation encompasses employee satisfaction across leadership, corporate values, human resources management, compensation, benefits, workplace atmosphere, work-life balance, and overall community impact. The company’s internal metrics have climbed steadily over a five-year period, with employee assessments of equal growth opportunities reaching 94.5%.

Staff Identify as Unified Team at Mēness Aptieka

Internal surveys reveal that 85% of staff identify their colleagues as a unified team, while 72% explicitly rate the enterprise as the best place to work. Elena Petrishina, a member of the board of “Mēness aptieka”, emphasized the profound responsibility inherent in pharmaceutical care across the company’s regional network.

“In the profession of pharmacy, experience and relationships with people develop over a long time, and the work of our pharmacists and pharmacy assistants is a daily immense responsibility towards people,” Petrishina stated. The organization employs more than 1,300 individuals across Latvia, maintaining a workforce ranging from 18-year-old students to employees in their 80s.

Long-term stability and fairness have emerged as primary drivers for talent retention within the sector. Wage equality assessments between male and female employees have shown marked improvement over the past five years alongside overall satisfaction with compensation packages.

Baiba Pedraudze, the HR director of the enterprise, noted that the organization maintains a global engagement score of 79%. “It is very important for us that the people working at Mēness aptieka feel heard and valued,” Pedraudze stated. The comprehensive benefits structure includes competitive compensation, health insurance, opportunities for professional growth and training, and flexible working conditions.

Retraining Programs Qualify 200 Pharmaceutical Assistants

Beyond traditional hiring channels, the company addresses industry staffing needs through targeted educational pathways. 200 staff members entered their roles immediately following retraining programs designed to qualify them as pharmaceutical assistants.

Vilma Druliene, Chair of the Management Board, noted that continuous skill development remains central to the firm’s operational strategy. External experts auditing the corporate environment also provided recommendations to further refine daily processes and staff motivation.

Alongside its workplace credentials, “Mēness aptieka” holds the designation of the most sustainable brand in Latvia’s pharmaceutical sector, according to the European Sustainable Brand Index, marking its twelfth consecutive year as the most beloved, quality, green, and humane pharmacy brand in Latvia.
