Facebook changed its name Meta After fully embracing the metaverse, how is their VR career going? The results are remarkable, with Horizon Worlds, Meta’s core social VR platform said to have grown tenfold since December, according to newly revealed figures.The company’s chief product officer, Chris Cox, revealed that after Horizon Worlds first opened in the U.S. and Canada in early December, its monthly active users have climbed to 300000. Here, Meta and Horizon Venues, which are in the same system as Horizon Worlds, are also included, but Horizon Workrooms, the VR conference software, is not included.
In addition to this, Meta announced earlier this week that Horizon Worlds has surpassed 10,000 worlds, and Facebook-related groups have more than 20,000 creator members.Later this year Meta also intends to change the scope of Horizon Worlds from a single Oculus Quest Further expansion of the device to the more widespread mobile platform may be a key step in bringing the concept of the Metaverse to the masses.
