Announced at a Nintendo Indie World Showcase in 2021, Metal Slugs Tactics presented itself under the best auspices for a release in 2022… But ultimately that will not be the case, indeed the teams of Dotemu announced on their twitter account that they needed a little more time to finalize the game and are now announcing a release for 2023! (We hope it will be the right one.)

This new game from the Metal Slug universe takes the classic action of the series to a new dimension. Metal Slug Tactics retains the series’ iconic elements such as its detailed pixel-art and explosive action to add tactical combat and roguelike elements to spice things up. Players will be able to control well-known heroes from the Metal Slug universe like Marco, Tarma, Fio and Eri in fast-paced and dynamic battles. As in any strategy game, placement is crucial: position your units on the battlefield to activate sync mechanics, which allow multiple heroes to act to inflict even more damage on enemies.
