Mexican ‘tiktoker’ shot to death outside her home

Neighbors in the area say that when the young woman left her house, they heard several shots shortly after and alerted the emergency services.

The Attorney General of the State of Sinaloa (Mexico) is investigating the murder of Karla Pardini, a 21-year-old ‘influencer’ shot dead on September 20 on a street in the Tierra Blanca neighborhood, in the city of Culiacán, local media reported .

The state attorney general, Sara Bruna Quiñonez, reported that there are reasons to consider the crime a femicide. “We registered it as a femicide because she was exposed and was defenseless when the attack occurred. We are doing the investigation with the utmost secrecy so as not to alert the possible or possible suspect, “she said.

According to the testimony of the victim’s mother, Pardini received a call to her cell phone last Tuesday night, while she was at her residence, which made her leave her home. Neighbors in the area say they heard several shots shortly after and alerted the emergency services.

The lifeless body of the young woman was found near her residence. It is presumed that armed subjects shot her repeatedly and she died almost instantly. Her remains were delivered to her relatives and buried in the Jardines del Humaya cemetery, in Culiacán.

According to María Teresa Guerra Ochoa, head of the Women’s Secretariat, Karla’s case becomes the 14th femicide in Sinaloa so far this year, reports the newspaper El Financiero.

Karla Pardini was known for her TikTok profile, where she had more than 84,000 followers and some 300,000 likes. She used to share comedic content, dance ‘trends’ and talk about fashion and clothing. Her last video, uploaded to the platform shortly before her death, has accumulated more than 970,000 views so far. After the news of her murder was made public, her followers left her farewell messages on the social network.
