“Making cinema is inventing a nostalgia for a past that never existed” wrote Michael Cimino one day. He died on July 2, 2016, at the age of 77 following having spent 20 years to dream of films that never saw the light of day.
“In Michael Cimino an American mirage, there are Jim, Kathy, Orin, Bobby, John Wayne and a certain Boom-Boom. Quentin heads in, as do Oliver, Stanley and John.
