Since then, the fund has had to borrow millions to get the ailing company ready for a relaunch. Tomaso secured the President’s chair, but is only supposed to represent. Large shares went to his mother Maria Luisa Trussardi and his sister Beatrice (50), who ran the business for a long time, when in 1999 first her father Nicola († 56) and four years later her brother Francesco († 29) died in car accidents. At that time people spoke of the “curse of the Trussardis”. Tomaso is said to have been awarded 10 million euros for the sale.
