Half a year after the release of 5.2, the AI-powered image generator Midjourney has released version 6 of its popular tool. The latest model is now able to add short texts on photos, and in addition to understanding longer requests, it can also generate more detailed images.
Midjourney first entered the public consciousness in July 2022. Since then, each update has seen rapid and impressive improvements in image quality and accuracy.
This release comes at a time when Midjourney is under more pressure from its competitors. One of its strong rivals is OpenAI DALL-E 3, which can also generate text. Similarly, Meta’s free tools and services like Leonardo offer increasing control over image generation.
