Although he has a valid contract with Arsenal until June 30, 2025, the mentioned source suggested that the past years and the tensions of previous seasons have left their mark on him. Good relations with the club’s management will allow for separation by mutual consent after the end of the season. According to this source, Arteta had already announced to his surroundings the decision to leave Arsenal for FC Barcelona.

This was almost immediately denied by the English media, and on Monday Arteta himself spoke out. And he didn’t hide his nervousness.

– I’m not going anywhere, it’s fake news. I don’t know where this information came from. That’s not true, Arteta said during a press conference.

– I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I was very nervous. I’m in the right place, with the right people. We still have a lot of work to do, said the Gunners coach.

Arteta has been Arsenal’s coach since December 22, 2019. During this time, he led the team in 210 games.

This season, Arsenal is third in the Premier League, five points behind leaders Liverpool. Additionally, it is still in the Champions League (it will play against FC Porto in the 1/8 finals).
